Step-by-step walkthrough

  1. Cross the first upper basin

Both heroes start at the upper left. Fireboy walks beyond the first icy strip to the dry part of the descending slope, then jumps right over the blue basin and through its red diamond. Watergirl can walk through this basin and continue to the dry ledge before the orange pool.

  2. Collect the upper diamonds

Watergirl jumps across the orange pool through the high blue diamond. Fireboy can cross that pool on foot. On the next raised section, Fireboy jumps from the dry ledge over the second blue basin for the red diamond, while Watergirl walks through it. Continue right beyond the upper platform’s end and land on the shelf below.

  3. Return left along the middle pools

From the dry low section on the right, Fireboy jumps left through the nearby red diamond, then continues through the orange pool. Jump over the next blue basin to its dry left side. Watergirl instead takes her leftward jump from farther right, clearing the orange pool and collecting the blue diamond above it; she can then walk through the blue basin.

  4. Visit the long central ice shelf

Leave the left end of this middle platform and land on the sloping ice shelf below. Move right along its broad flat bottom so Fireboy collects the low red diamond. Then turn back left. Take care with momentum: both heroes slide differently and cannot start a jump while standing on these ice strips.

  5. Drop down the left side

Step off the left tip of the central ice shelf. Watergirl collects the blue diamond during this drop. Continue left past the next lower shelf’s edge and fall into the bottom passage near the left wall, passing through another blue diamond. Move right along the floor; Fireboy collects the red diamond before the first purple pool.

  6. Clear both purple pools

Jump from dry floor across the first purple pool, then continue right to the dry section before the second. Watergirl takes the blue diamond along this section. Make a separate rightward jump over the second purple pool. The ceiling is low here, so take off before reaching each pool rather than trying to jump after touching it.

  7. Climb the right-hand steps

Continue right to the dry rising steps against the wall. From near their upper end, jump LEFT onto the sloping tip of the blue door’s platform. Move left along this platform. Watergirl stops at her blue exit.

  8. Reach the higher red exit

Fireboy follows the same route to the blue door’s platform, then jumps RIGHT onto the higher platform carrying the red door. Walk into the matching exit. Either hero can finish first and wait safely; the complete route collects all 10 diamonds before the second hero reaches the door.

This route was verified in the game simulation using player controls, required diamonds, and both matching exits. It describes this version’s independently reconstructed room, not an official walkthrough.

If you get stuck

Check the unfinished objective

The diamonds in this room are optional. If you only want to finish, bring both heroes fully inside their own matching doors.

A jump does not start on ice

Move completely onto a dry stone edge, let the hero settle, release Jump, and press it again. Fireboy keeps sliding, so start braking before the edge.

You cannot recover safely

Pause and choose Restart level to reset both heroes, diamonds, weights, and switches. Previously completed levels stay saved. Follow the step order before moving a box or releasing a weight.

Level questions

How do you finish The Frozen Descent?

Descend through the winding shelves, collect all 10 diamonds, and return up the right-hand steps to the two exits. Jump from dry stone and cross only your matching liquid on foot. Bring Fireboy to the orange exit in the middle right and Watergirl to the blue exit in the lower right. Both heroes must be at their own doors together. The 10 unmarked diamonds are optional; collect every diamond for a perfect clear.

How many diamonds are required in The Frozen Descent?

10 diamonds: 5 for Fireboy and 5 for Watergirl. None are required to finish. 10 unmarked diamonds are optional collectibles for a perfect clear.

Which hazards are in The Frozen Descent?

2 orange lava pools (upper center and middle center), 3 blue water pools (upper right, upper left, and middle center), and 2 purple goo pools (lower left and lower center). Fireboy can enter orange lava; Watergirl must avoid it. Watergirl can enter blue water; Fireboy must avoid it. Purple goo defeats either hero. If either hero falls into a dangerous pool, both players restart the level.

Does The Frozen Descent need a partner to hold a switch?

There are no levers or pressure plates in this room. Each hero can follow their own route, but both matching exits are still needed to finish.

Why can’t I jump from the ice in The Frozen Descent?

This level has 27 ice strips. Neither hero can jump while standing on ice. Move onto the dry stone edge first; Fireboy slides farther, while Watergirl moves more slowly on ice.
