Step-by-step walkthrough

  1. Cross the bottom mound

Watergirl starts at the lower left; Fireboy starts at the lower right. Jump inward over the small icy bump, taking the low matching diamond. Jump onto the broad center mound and reach its dry, flat top before the next takeoff. One hero can wait safely while the other completes the route.

  2. Choose the matching pool side

From the center mound, Watergirl jumps RIGHT to the low inner shelf and Fireboy jumps LEFT. Collect the shelf diamond, then jump outward to the next dry platform above the ice slope. Continue outward through the matching blue or orange pool for its diamond; the other color is unsafe.

  3. Climb above the pool

From near the outer end of the pool, jump inward onto the small shelf above it. Take a short run toward the center, then jump onto the higher ridge and collect its diamond. Start the jump while still on dry stone. Watergirl cannot jump from an icy slope, and the low ceiling makes a standing jump too short here.

  4. Visit both sides of the middle basin

Walk inward down the ridge to the broad central basin. The matching diamond is on the opposite half: Watergirl goes to the LEFT half, Fireboy to the RIGHT. After collecting it, return to your original half of the basin beside the small floating stone.

  5. Rise beside the small stone

Stand just outside the floating stone’s side, jump straight up, then steer toward it after rising past its lower edge. Watergirl approaches from the right, Fireboy from the left. Land on the small stone, move toward the outer shoulder, and jump outward onto the sloping inner tip of the next high shelf. Collect the diamond along that jump.

  6. Clear the upper purple pool

Walk outward along the shelf to its dry flat section. Build a little speed, then jump across the purple pool before reaching its edge, collecting the matching diamond above it. Keep moving outward to the dry low ledge beyond the ice slope. Do not try to take off after stepping onto ice.

  7. Reach the top shelf

From that low outer ledge, take another running jump outward to the short dry ramp against the room wall. Turn back and jump inward onto the small top shelf, collecting the outer diamond. A second inward jump reaches the broad top platform.

  8. Cross to the matching exit

Move toward the middle of the top route, then jump across the central purple pool and its matching diamond. Watergirl continues LEFT to the blue door; Fireboy continues RIGHT to the red door. The first hero waits safely at the matching door until the other arrives. Following both mirrored routes collects all 18 diamonds.

This route was verified in the game simulation using player controls, required diamonds, and both matching exits. It describes this version’s independently reconstructed room, not an official walkthrough.

If you get stuck

Check the unfinished objective

The diamonds in this room are optional. If you only want to finish, bring both heroes fully inside their own matching doors.

A jump does not start on ice

Move completely onto a dry stone edge, let the hero settle, release Jump, and press it again. Fireboy keeps sliding, so start braking before the edge.

You cannot recover safely

Pause and choose Restart level to reset both heroes, diamonds, weights, and switches. Previously completed levels stay saved. Follow the step order before moving a box or releasing a weight.

Level questions

How do you finish The Opposite Ice Climb?

Cross the bottom mound, climb beside your matching pool, then use the center stone to reach the upper shelves. This route collects all 18 diamonds before both heroes enter their opposite top exits. Bring Fireboy to the orange exit in the upper right and Watergirl to the blue exit in the upper left. Both heroes must be at their own doors together. The 18 unmarked diamonds are optional; collect every diamond for a perfect clear.

How many diamonds are required in The Opposite Ice Climb?

18 diamonds: 9 for Fireboy and 9 for Watergirl. None are required to finish. 18 unmarked diamonds are optional collectibles for a perfect clear.

Which hazards are in The Opposite Ice Climb?

1 orange lava pool (middle left), 1 blue water pool (middle right), and 3 purple goo pools (upper center, middle left, and middle right). Fireboy can enter orange lava; Watergirl must avoid it. Watergirl can enter blue water; Fireboy must avoid it. Purple goo defeats either hero. If either hero falls into a dangerous pool, both players restart the level.

Does The Opposite Ice Climb need a partner to hold a switch?

There are no levers or pressure plates in this room. Each hero can follow their own route, but both matching exits are still needed to finish.

Why can’t I jump from the ice in The Opposite Ice Climb?

This level has 48 ice strips. Neither hero can jump while standing on ice. Move onto the dry stone edge first; Fireboy slides farther, while Watergirl moves more slowly on ice.
